Seven attempts at one line

Tide Line looks like a single gesture. It is, but only the eighth one.

A two-metre horizontal drawn in one pass sounds like bravado. In practice it is a week of failures dried flat and painted over, until the arm finally knows the distance without thinking about it.

What you see is the eighth attempt. The seven underneath are why the surface has weather — the ridge is not decoration, it is the accumulated evidence of getting it wrong.
